Therapists at the Family Therapy Center hold master’s degrees in marriage and family therapy or closely related fields such as counseling, psychology, or social work. They are all in the process of completing their doctorates in the marriage and family therapy program area, within the Department of Human Development and Family Science, at Virginia Tech. At times, the Family Therapy Center also serves as a clinical internship site for master’s and/or doctoral students in the Virginia Tech Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
