Dr. Lyn O’Connell, a graduate of the MFT doctoral program area, was recently appointed as Associate Director of Community Services, in the Department of Family and Community Health’s Division of Addiction Sciences at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and Marshall Health. In this position, Dr. O’Connell will provide leadership to efforts to address substance use, and its underlying causes, within the community. She will also be engaged in teaching, research, and providing clinical services. Dr. O’Connell previously served as the Clinical Director of the Marshall University Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) program. She is also a member of the Marshall Substance Use Recovery Coalition, Healthy Connections Coalition, and chair of the Cabell County Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership (CCSAPP).
