Kathleen Smith, a 2nd year student in the MFT program, was recently selected as an AAMFT Minority Fellow. Kathleen currently serves as a research assistant in Dr. Russon’s Alliance for Suicide Prevention and Intervention through Relationship Enrichment (ASPIRE) lab, where she has been working to adapt the Zero Suicide framework to LGBTQ+ youth. She plans to study LGBTQ+ cultural adaptations to couple therapy.
